What is Blogspot (also known as Blogger)?
Blogger is a weblog publishing system, founded by Pyra Labs in August 1999 and later acquired by Google in February 2003. This transfer led to the biggest change that Blogger.com became exempt. user fees.
Google acquired Picasa in 2004 and then brought Picasa and its image-sharing utility Hello into Blogger.
On May 9, 2004, Blogger launched major changes in interface design: bringing in templates for users to choose, archiving old articles, posting to Blogger by e-mail.
On August 14, 2006, Blogger released the latest beta version codenamed Invader. With this new version users can link to Google’s server as well as add a number of new features. In December 2006, Blogger became official after a short trial period. Currently, to use this new version, users need a Google account. However, users can continue to use the old version of Blogger, and of course not be able to enjoy the new and interesting features of the new version.
